Just to say why we didn't get photos of maple festival, the reason is that it was super cold
Two days before yesterday, we attended the Vermont maple festival to see a hypnotism show, witch was really cool except for the fact that only about half of the six or so volunteers actually got hypnotized (kind of lessens the amazement factor, but not too much).
After that, we got kind of hungry. So I noticed that there was a stand selling 'fried dough'(a.k.a. beaver tails). So I got one, and it was pretty tasty :P
The next day we didn't really do anything, kind of just sat around.
Just to let you know, I kind of lost track of what happened when when we were in Vermont, but I know that sometime we visited a Ben&Jerry's factory, and that it was super cool. It had a graveyard for past flavors. On the headstones, there was a rendering of the particular flavor in a cone, and below that is the flavor description, and below that is a short humorous rhyme about that flavor. Pretty cool!
When we left (which was today), we drove straight to Montreal, where we will stay one night, and tomorrow we will hop on a train bound for New York.

Apr. 29, 2012 (morning)

Today we are being hosted in St. albans, Vermont.
Here's what happened since my last post:
After getting off of Cape Breton, we did a lot of driving until we got to Moncton, NB. There we stayed for two nights in a hotel, which had a pool (yay).
After that we drove across the border and continued driving until we got to a town that might have been named mount blue (I don't remember), and stayed at Mount Blue Motel for 1 night. It turns out that our motel room was about twice as big as our hotel rooms (weird huh?).
The next day we drove straight through to St. Albans, where I am now. We have been here for four nights out of the five that we will be here.
So ya, that's about it, and I think that I will be posting more often from now on because it's really hard to remember so far back because there's so much happening.

Ok so here's what happened since my last post:
In Halifax we were staying at the house of one of Lise's friends, Lorna. We stayed there for four nights, then we drove for about an hour and a half to a town called Antigonish, where we stopped at a park to stretch our legs. After Antigonish, we drove for another hour or so until we got to Sydney, Cape Breton, where we just stayed for two nights at Days Inn. Right now, we are driving back towards the causeway(yes, a causeway) that takes you on/off of Cape Breton.
Oh ya, I forgot to mention that I purchased an iPod touch, and I'm doing my blog from it : )
The photos below are of a gigantic sculpture of a violin at Sydney waterfront.

Apr. 18, 2012

Just a summary of the trip so far:
First, we took the Victoria Clipper to Seattle, then stayed overnight there in a hotel. In the morning, we got on a train named Coast Starlight. We stayed 1 night on that train, then got off in Sacramento. From Sacramento, we got on another train named California Zephyr, on which we stayed 2 nights, then got off in Chicago. From Chicago we took a train named Lake Shore Limited to Buffalo/Depew.
On the Lake Shore Limited, there were toilets and sinks in the rooms, but no public washrooms!!! Luckily for us, we are a family of five so we needed one 2 person room & one 3 person room. In a three person room, the washroom is separated from the main part. In a two person room the toilet just folds up. As a result, I never actually used the toilet in the two person room, I went over to the three.
After that train, we got on one called Maple Leaf. That train took us to Toronto, from which we took yet another train to Montreal. From the Montreal train station, we got a Budget rental car, and drove overnight to Halifax, where I am now, after 1 out of 4 nights here, finishing this post.
So ya.

Apr. 17, 2012

Well, we visited Lunenberg yesterday, and we kind of saw the bluenose II.
Lunenberg is actually a pretty cool town, it's just that it's not very well known for some reason. But what really struck me as interesting was this:
The grocery store Thrifty's is owned by the company Sobeys (so-bees), but in Lunenberg there's this other grocery store called FoodLand, and it's also owned by Sobeys. Weird huh?
Also I got an iPod touch the day before yesterday and I am doing this blog post from it.
The photo is from the house we are staying at and it is of Eva and my water bottles.

Trains can go very fast! Check out these photos out the window. One is a tower holding up power lines (power tower). The other picture is of plants going by right outside the train. Also this is my first blog post.
